Bridport Group News
The Bridport Art group began at the beginning of October 2016. We started the group surrounded by Ursula’s inspiring artwork. At 11am eight people arrived. We didn’t know who was more nervous, but with cups of coffee and tea, we introduced Conquest Art. Christine read Ursula’s poem about forgetting all your cares and immersing your thoughts in creativity, and we looked at Ursula’s painting where she took a pencil for a walk. By the end of the session everyone had made new friends, completed their first doodle, and surprised themselves. We all went away with enthusiasm and dates for future Conquest Art sessions.
Since then the group has gone from strength to strength, growing in numbers, creativity, confidence and happiness.
Writing this article and sitting here on our eighth session, we have both just looked up and every person is totally absorbed in their own piece of artwork and seemingly all their cares are forgotten at this moment in time.
