Clive was introduced to Conquest Art by the Rehabilitation Centre he attended following a stroke. He had been a technician at Reigate Art College but had never painted prior to joining the Reigate Park Class. He enjoys painting a variety of subjects but primarily the wildlife he captures on camera when visiting the lakes at Tilgate Park to which he travels on his mobility scooter. Clive’s paintings capture the essence of the bird or animal he is portraying - the delicate feathers, fur or beady eye. All the members of the class benefit from his endless supply of excellent photographs. Wonderful close-up shots of Rhododendrons, cheeky snaps of his ‘pet’ fox and garden squirrel, many water birds, all laminated for use by fellow painters. |
