Introducing our New Trustees
By Conquest Art on 4th November 2025

We have three new Trustees that have joined the team!  Read below for small introductions from Judy Sarssam, Nick Baker and Sue O’Regan.  We so glad to have them onboard to help continue the amazing work of Conquest Art in enriching the lives of our members.

Judy Sarssam

The Conquest Art Constitution includes the condition that any Trustees who have served on the Board for nine years should step down for a minimum of one year. Hence the need for new Trustees to be recruited by February 2026.

There are no adequate words to express enough gratitude to those dedicated and wonderful special people who have been doing a truly splendid job of running the Conquest Art Charity and along with our most efficient and hard-working Tina, have kept this valuable charity running smoothly for so many years.

Under the title of President and on behalf of every member of Conquest I extend a huge, unbounded THANK YOU. All those shouldering the work of trusteeship are an integral part of CA in other roles and most for far longer than a mere decade.

I know that CA lives up to its strapline of enriching lives.

Trustees are required and so I decided to accept the request that I take on the privilege of the responsibility of trusteeship.

I cannot step into the shoes of those who will perforce cease the roles but will do my best.

I bear in mind that Ursula, the Founder, asked me all those many years ago, to try to steer Conquest Art, as much as possible, within the bounds of her ethos.

Nick Baker

My name is Nick Baker, and I was delighted to accept the recent offer to become a trustee of Conquest Art. Although I have no artistic ability myself, I have always been interested in art and the role it plays in a full and rounded life.

I retired five years ago after working for many years as a solicitor, in the UK and in Hong Kong. I would envisage that my role will be assisting CA with legal and regulatory issues, but I am looking forward to working with existing trustees in any manner that enables this wonderful charity to thrive and prosper.

Sue O’Regan

Hello, my name is Sue O’Regan.  I began volunteering at the Tuesday sessions in Epsom and quickly appreciated how this wonderful charity benefits so many different people. I am therefore honoured to have been invited to be a Trustee.

I’ve had a varied career, beginning with sales in the United States, which brought me to the UK. While raising my family, I ran and produced a local magazine and am currently in charge of the adult learning programme for the Surrey Wildlife Trust. I look forward to using the skills gained over the years to help continue the success of CA.

Welcome Judy, Nick and Sue to the Team!
