2016 Annual Exhibition Review
By Conquest Art on 31st August 2016

We held our Annual Art Exhibition at Bourne Hall in August and for the first time in many years there was an opening event for Conquest Art Friends and supporters where we were able to talk to people about the work of the charity. Several pictures were sold at this event and a lot of interest was shown in our work. The Mayor and Mayoress of Epsom and Ewell, Cllr George Crawford and Mrs Jackie Hennings enthusiastically praised the artwork on show, Jackie being a keen artist herself when she has the time.

The exhibition showed the excellent work of many of our members although sadly not all groups contributed to this year’s exhibition.  We hope that more groups will take part next year.

Members of Conquest Art all live with disabilities or long term health issues and the work on display illustrated the creativity which is possible when the imagination is fired up. Members can forget their discomfort and difficulties when they are focused and joyfully creating colourful pictures. The friendships and camaraderie within the groups as well as the infinite opportunities to be creative make the Conquest Art groups happy and enriching places.

We would like to congratulate everyone on the wonderful work that we were able to show at this year’s exhibition and to thank all the volunteers who gave their time to man our table and keep things in place.

We always welcome new members and volunteers so if you have a friend, neighbour or family member who would like to join in one of our groups do please get in touch and if you would like to volunteer to help at any venue, to chat, smile, make tea and be a go for, please contact us.
