Remembering our oldest member
By Conquest Art on 16th February 2017
Sadly we have recently lost one of our oldest and much-loved members. Arthur Miller came to Conquest Art with his wife Joy who had suffered a major stroke.  He says that he thought he could sit and enjoy a chat and a cup of coffee whilst his wife painted, instead we gave him a paintbrush. ... “Do something Different” afternoon
By Conquest Art on 13th February 2017
At the first of our “Do something different” afternoons we asked each member to choose a picture and then to try to look at the picture in a different way, perhaps a more abstract style. It was a challenge but as usual Stoneleigh members set to and I think they enjoyed being more thoughtful and ... Read more »
A void in the Malvern group
By Conquest Art on 10th February 2017
George Hamblin joined the Malvern group almost from its inception about 10 years ago. He came as a helper but found his hearing loss made that difficult. Nevertheless he was always willing to help, very generous with his time, his knowledge and his own materials. He was a great encourager, interested in what others were ... Read more »

A member we sadly lost
By Conquest Art on 10th January 2017
It was with great sadness that we learnt that John Remnant passed away the week before Christmas. John, who was profoundly deaf, became a Conquest Art member about 16 years ago. His daughter-in-law Penny was a helper and suggested he joined. Over the years, John has enjoyed tackling all the subjects introduced to the group. ... Read more »
World Braille Day!
By Conquest Art on 4th January 2017
On 4th January – it’s World Braille Day. Our Worcester Park Group Member, Sean Stanley is blind. He has enjoyed trying a tactile approach to painting in an abstract stained glass style.
