Our Annual Exhibition 2022
The Trustees have been delighted to be able to hold an exhibition once again at Bourne Hall, opening on Tuesday the 19th July and closing on the 30th July. Almost 100 paintings were on display, and entries were submitted by most of the groups currently open. As always vibrant colour featured, and a number of media were used. All of the works of art featured were offered for sale, and a number were sold.
A competition was also held under the title ‘My Favourite Subject’. The winners have received a monetary award, and the results were as follows: –
1st Prize: Anthony Steer – Ashtead Group
2nd Prize: Heather Panter – Reigate Park Group
3rd Prize: Sundhar Srinivasan – Stoneleigh Group
The exhibition was staffed by volunteers, ably supported by Tina McJarrow. In addition to a number of pictures, silk scarves, bookmarks, and blank cards showing reproductions of some of the paintings were sold.
One of the advantages of Bourne Hall is that it is the location of the local library. Many visitors took an interest in the exhibition, with children noticeably taking an interest and being encouraged to vote for their favourite painting by their parents.
A successful exhibition demonstrating the value of Conquest Art to the community.
