Double Celebrations in Ashtead
The 40th Anniversary of Conquest Art almost coincided with Ashtead Conquest Art first Anniversary on the 3rd July.
On that day we celebrated both events with a buffet lunch and birthday cake for all our members and volunteers, Tina McJarrow (Charity Co-ordinator) was able to meet our members and present a gift to the volunteers in person.
This was followed by an afternoon exhibition of our members work, 45 paintings including collage, and 10 silk scarves decorated by some of our members were on show.
One of our members who is 87 and never painted before said ‘ I could not imagine this happening a year ago!’
We had over 40 visitors and the following are quotes from our visitors’ book:
