Calling Potential Group Leaders!
Your few hours a week could make a real difference to people’s lives. Sadly, three of our group leaders had to step down from their role and we are seeking replacements for our Dorking, Epsom and Kingston art groups.
The group leader will be the main contact person between Head Office and the group and in responsible for managing the volunteer team. All our art groups need a team of volunteers, which have a variety of different gifts from organisational skills, artistic experience to someone dealing with the money or making the tea. But most of all we need your enthusiasm to help create a friendly welcoming environment where members feel relaxed and able to make the most of their time with us. The helpers set up the room with art materials and clears away at the end of each session. During the group you can provide help, guidance, and artistic ideas if you can. The aim of the group is for an informal and collaborative environment in which to produce the best possible outcome for group members. Tea, coffee, biscuits, or cake are usually served during the session.
Volunteers are the people who make Conquest Art possible.
The Dorking group is held every Thursday (except the 3rd Thursday of the month) at the United Reformed Church from 2:00 to 4:00pm (excluding setting up and clearing away time).
The Epsom group is held every Tuesday at the Epsom Methodist Church from 2:00 to 4:00pm (excluding setting up and clearing away time).
The Kingston group is held on Thursday evenings at St Pius X Roman Catholic Church from 6:00 to 7:30pm (excluding setting up and clearing away time). Due to lockdown, we are currently holding the group sessions via Zoom. If you would like to join a Zoom meeting, please do get in touch.
We planning to reopen all the above groups in September 2021, if we have the recruited the group leaders and have the team of volunteers.
Could you run and join one of our art teams?
Please contact us for more information and on how you can be involved in the team.
