Dorking Group Re-Opened!
By Conquest Art on 5th February 2019

Back in May 2018 the Dorking group sadly closed but not for long, by 5th September 2018 it was up and running again with a good number of members attending, mostly regulars from previously. They had missed the group greatly and were thrilled to be back. The first task was to gather as many members’ paintings for the Annual Exhibition as was possible. There wasn’t much time, but we had seven entries completed and delivered by myself to Bourne Hall for the exhibition on the morning of 8th October 2018. Each painting was as individual as the next and I was very proud to see them hanging at the exhibition along with the work of other groups.

Some of the regular volunteers also returned with some new faces, including myself. I thoroughly enjoy our regular Thursday afternoons and feel we make a great team along with our members. I have enjoyed meeting everyone associated with Conquest Art and also those involved with the United Reformed Church in Dorking who try to help our meetings run as smoothly as possible.

Having missed out on the 40th Anniversary celebrations, we had our own belated ‘party’ at our last meeting of the year, combining it with our Christmas festivities.  Tina from Head Office joined us to share the cake and nibbles.  Cheers everyone!
