Group Opened Shortly
After much planning and negotiation with the venue we were as delighted
as our members to set a date to re-open the Stoneleigh group on
12th October. Following all the protocols we welcomed everyone back and
enjoyed our afternoon with lots of chatter and laughter and even some
painting. It was good to be back together and it became apparent just
how much members had missed coming to the group.
Some, including myself had set out with good intentions about keeping up with their art but almost all found it hard to motivate themselves without the group around them. Sadly, by week three it became obvious that this was going to be our last meeting and so we set about making plans. We have set up a WhatsApp group which most have joined and organised our first “homework” idea to encourage people to get working. Already one of our members, Sundhur, has completed a picture and shown it on WhatsApp for us all to see. With these new measures stretching before us into the dull days of winter we knew we needed to be more pro-active and we hope that, even if we cannot meet again until next year we will be able to keep in touch, share our efforts and stay positive.
