News from Our Worcester Park Group
By Conquest Art on 31st October 2016

On 5th July 2016, we opened a new Conquest Art Group in Worcester Park at St Mary’s Church, Cuddington.  We are a small, friendly group, and members and helpers have enjoyed getting to know each other while pursuing their individual artistic interests. Three of our members, Angela, Vedica and Jan are keen watercolourists and have been exploring a variety of techniques in their paintings.  Another member, Villoo, is interested in pen and pencil sketching, and has been taking advantage of the Autumn sunshine to work outside making studies of the beautiful church building.

Meanwhile our fifth member Sean, who is blind, has enjoyed trying a tactile approach to painting in an abstract stained glass style. He drew a free design on a canvas board, which I went over with ‘artificial lead’, thus creating raised lines which he could feel. He was then able to fill his design with colour, with striking results.

We look forward to welcoming more new members to our group, and to trying out more techniques and media in the future.
