Autumn in Halesworth
“Autumn is the second spring where every leaf is a flower” Albert Camus
Autumn greetings from our Conquest Art community in Halesworth. As the hazy days of summer have lingered well into autumn, our creative spirits have risen to new heights. We’ve been jump-started and enthused by dazzling rustic colours, the amazing variety of falling leaves with their intricate patterns and the vibrancy of orange and red berries which seemingly hang in abundance from every other branch. Such exuberant displays of nature could not pass by our artistic abilities! Hence our images reveal the wonders of creation. As can be seen below, Nicolas has created a lively image of hedgehogs in a field of apples which reminds us of nature’s abundance.
We warmly welcomed our newest volunteer, Davina, who joined our group in August, bringing a brilliant variety of new, stimulating, arty ideas and techniques which have inspired our autumn themes. Each week we have had a display of autumn leaves and berries on twigs to inspire our ideas into the beautiful artworks we have sent for the magazine. I brought in an autumn poem, so members could illustrate the borders in their own personal style, also using leaves and berries that Davina had gathered.
As can be seen from Christine’s beautiful illustration and autumn bouquet (above), along with Nicholas’ colourful leaf illustration (below), the group has reflected on the beauty of autumn. Richanda created her own autumn project with a cheerful, beautiful needlework sunflower (below).
We wish you all a fabulous autumn full of wonderful creativity!
